Situation:
A Year 4 student was struggling with reading and falling behind.
Task:
My task was to support him and boost his confidence.
Action:
I worked with him one-to-one for 15 minutes each morning using phonics games and praise-based feedback.

4. How would you handle disruptive behaviour in class?
I would stay calm, follow the school’s behaviour policy, and try to de-escalate the situation quietly. I’d speak to the student privately and involve the teacher if needed.
5. What would you do if a child disclosed something sensitive to you?
I would listen calmly, not promise to keep it secret, and report it immediately to the safeguarding lead as required. I would follow all school safeguarding procedures.
6. How do you support pupils with special educational needs (SEN)?
I follow the guidance in their support plan, adapt my approach to suit their learning style, and use patience and encouragement to help them succeed.

During a school trip, one staff member was absent and we were short-handed.
